Korean 101

Korean 101 – Hello, Nice to Meet You.

As a service to our customers interested in Korean culture, we’ve decided to allocate a separate section on our blog to learning the Korean language. We won’t be able to offer in-depth language courses (please inquire with your local language institute for this!), but do plan to post simple and useful phrases that can be used in everyday life.

We hope you find this section useful and feel free to comment with what you’d like to see posted! Please understand that we cannot respond to language-related questions.

- Korean of the Day -

Hello, nice to meet you.

안녕하세요, 반갑습니다.

(An-nyeong-ha-se-yo. Ban-gap-seum-ni-da.)

Appropriate to use in a formal situation or environment such as the workplace.

If you’re meeting someone for the first time, but it’s very casual, you would likely omit the last part ‘반갑습니다 (ban-gap-seum-ni-da)’.
