Korean 101

Korean 101 – I like Korean food.

- Korean of the Day -

I like Korean food.

(저는) 한국 음식 좋아합니다.

(저는) 한국 음식 좋아해요.

(Jeo-neun Hanguk eum-shik joa-ham-nida.)

(Jeo-eun Hanguk eum-shik joa-heyo.)

저는 (jeoneun) is a polite way of saying ‘I’ in Korean where you are putting yourself in a lower position than the person you’re speaking to. Among strangers, elders or in a business environment it is advised you use ‘저는’ instead of ‘나는’. 나 should almost only be used with friends and family.

Korean 101 is a part of the Arts & Crafts Korea website for customers interested in learning the Korean language. We won’t be able to offer in-depth language courses (please inquire with your local language institute for this!), but do plan to post simple and useful phrases that can be used in everyday life.

We hope you find this section useful and feel free to comment with what you’d like to see posted! Please understand that we cannot respond to language-related questions.
